Word of the Week: Katrina does not eat VERDANT food.

Hi, friends!
Before we get to the Word of the Week, we thought we would share a few behind the scenes pictures from our author's HuffPost Live Tell Me Why program with Mr. Rick Riordan. If you missed it, no worries, the recording is out there. Yippee!

Neighbor Girl (Felicia) spent a couple of hours practicing via Google Hangouts  (and having a bit of fun) with her friend, Erik of This Kid Reviews Books in preparation for the program. What do you think of their use of Google Effects? They DID practice asking their questions, and talking about their books, in between the silliness.
There was a bit of anxiety a few minutes before the program began, when Neighbor Girl was kicked out of the connection. The fun part was that Erik had a few minutes with Mr. Riordan all by himself!!! Thankfully, the pieces fell back into place, and with everyone back online, the kids had a few minutes with Mr. Riordan before the program. Mr. Riordan was so very kind. He said he was happy to meet them, and he thanked the kids for being there. Wow! Neighbor Girl still can't believe he made the time to be there.

Okay, back to business.
