Book Blasty Tour Wrap-up - The Observations of the Obstreperous Animals

We wrapped up the giveaway on our Book Blasty Tour last week, and we thought it would be fun to do a recap post. We had  and only two no-shows this time around. This was our second book tour, so we didn't stress over the no-shows as much as we did last time. If they show up later, great, if not, well, we won't use them in future events. Please note, we do have one that didn't participate but we are well aware of the reason and we chose to leave them in the tour because, "Hey, life happens."

We are super excited that Lovable Lobo is our winner. We think Lobo tweeted more about our giveaway than we did, so it is great he (CLM) was randomly chosen.
Congratulations, CL Murphy!

Excerpts and Links to Reviews of
"The Observations of the Obstreperous Animals"

The Observations of the Obstreperous Animals  received 11 new reviews on Amazon, 13 ratings and 11 new reviews on Goodreads, and 16 bloggers posted reviews on their websites through our Book Blasty Tour. Yippee!

Meg Dendler: "...I loved it and can see why it is getting such great ratings. I will be posting one myself on today. 5 stars from me as well!"

Mother Daughter Book Reviews: "...This young author has done a great job of creating an amusing romp that will leave the reader chuckling aloud and nodding their head thinking, "oh, she's nailed it! The story is filled with hilarious scenes that can only come from the imaginative mind of a young author and I think tweens in particular will really enjoy the absurdity and inventiveness of the story."

The Book Lovers' Lounge: "...the second Stanley and Katrina book is a fun read especially for the middle graders. Read on guys and be inspired to write as Stanley and Katrina did! Plus you get to read a few poems from these hilarious pets, too."

Beach Bound Books: "I just love the Stanley & Katrina books and The Observations of the Obstreperous Animals is no exception...."

Writer Side Up!: "... I can confidently confide to you that the antics of this "Pack of Pets" are perpetually entertaining and certainly something to celebrate...."

Amanda's Books and More: "... a one-of-a-kind humorous book full of zany pet characters written by a child author from the viewpoint of the pets...."

Spark and Pook: "I enjoyed this book from the minute I picked it up until the moment I put it down....If I were still teaching fourth grade, I would certainly use this book as a read aloud to my class...."

The Squishable Baby: "Like the first [book], it's written in hilarious narration written in perspective and back-and-forth-banter between Katrina von Cat, the cat in charge, and Stanley, the dog who wants to be in charge. This is an engaging book for any first chapter book reader! Your kids will want to pick it up and read it again and again!"

Adalinc to Life: "With a title like The Observations of the Obstreperous Animals how can your interest not be peaked?...The chapters or stories are told from the point of view of the animals so we as the reader receive a unique glimpse into life as the animals see and experience it. The result is obstreperously entertaining!..."

Stitch Says: "...This is a great book for animal lovers everywhere...It's fun, a little bit silly and many pet owners will relate to their adventures...."

We are the Dino Family: "...Kids will love to read about them [Stanley & Katrina] and perhaps will hug their pet dog & cat harder the next time, look in their eyes and say, "I KNOW what you are thinking!...Love the printables..."

This Kid Reviews Books:  Read his entertaining interview with Stanley.

Talking Animal Addicts: "'ve got [a] recipe for mayhem, misadventures, and Shenanigans that make the legendary "Tom and Jerry" look like bosom buddies...."  They even created a fan book trailer for our books! Click here to view them now.

Jemima Pett, Author: " ...This is a sequel worthy of its brilliant predecessor and a book that will win new fans for Stanley and Katrina.

The Sassy Schnauzer: "...At over 100 pages it still feels like a quick read, and bounces from scene to scene with ease. I would definitely recommend this book to my friends out there. It would be a great book to read with your young hoomins!

Lobo's Follies: "This young author has a wonderful writing style!...Short chapter stories about these non-compliant pets will keep the readers' attention...A fun pet friendly read!

Hey, Miss Adventures!: "...I find myself laughing at all the things that the pets do and with all the humor interjected into the story, I often forget that I was reading a book written by a kid....

JG, Goodreads: "...My favorite chapters were "The Pet Psychic" "Dog Scootering" and "To Do Lists." If you have ever wondered what really goes on in the minds of your pets when the family is out, then The Observations of the Obstreperous Animals is sure to be a hit."

48th Kid Lit Blog Hop; Halloween; Lititz Teen & Kid Literature Festival; Movie Premiere Party & Wordless Wednesday (That's All)

Welcome to the 48th Kid Lit Blog Hop! Before we get to hopping, we would love to share a photo journal of our author's busy (and exciting) weekend.

Of course, Friday began the excitement with Halloween.

Lego even joined in.

On Saturday, Felicia traveled to Lititz to attend the 2014 Lititz Teen & Kid Literature Festival, hosted by Aaron's Books.

Felicia and Erik (co-hosts of The Write Chat) were able to interview Mr. Matt Phelan for an upcoming episode (bottom picture in the collage above).

When Felicia arrived home on Saturday, her Moonbeam Book Award was waiting to be opened.

Sunday rounded out the weekend with Something's Awry Productions' Premiere Party. This talented production company was kind enough to include Felicia in their festivities. Felicia and her parents said the party was great and that the movies were phenomenal. We hope the films are well-received in the film festival circuit. Paws-crossed. :-)

Stanley & I are still recovering from all of the excitement - and we stayed home.
Ha! How was your weekend?

We are excited to participate in Wordless Wednesday Blog Hops.
We encourage you to visit them as well.
